Our Parent-Child class provides a first school experience for a 24-36 month olds. This is a class for children who are not ready to separate from their parent. A parent or caregiver attends class with the child one day per week.
Class begins with simple songs and activity. Guided by a Waldorf teacher, parents are involved in simple, purposeful tasks, such as preparing a healthy snack. In the meantime, children help or play freely. As a result of the support of a parent and experienced teachers, children establish a positive social play experience.
Parents experience the Waldorf approach to Early Childhood Education in our Parent-Child classes. At the same time, parents deepen their understanding of their own child. Parents and children alike form long-lasting friendships in these classes.
Like all of our Early Childhood programs, regular parent evenings form a part of this program. Parent evenings offer time to discuss parenting topics and shared reading materials. They also provide an opportunity for questions and sharing, especially about the classroom experience.
We offer Parent-Child classes one day per week. On Thursday mornings the class meets from 9:30 – 11:30, and on Friday mornings it meets from 8:45 – 11:00. We also offer the class in two sessions, Fall and Spring. Our Parent-Child lead teacher is Jennifer Scotti. We welcome your application and look forward to meeting you and your child.
The Spring 2018 Session starts 1/11 or 1/12 and ends 5/17 or 5/18.
